The Flier Cichlid (Archocentrus centrarchus) is a small, freshwater fish native to Central America, particularly found in lakes, rivers, and slow-moving streams in countries like Nicaragua and Costa Rica. This species is admired for its attractive appearance and manageable size, typically growing to about 4 to 6 inches in length.

Known for its relatively peaceful temperament compared to other cichlids, the Flier Cichlid is a popular choice for community aquariums. However, like many cichlids, it can become territorial during breeding. This species prefers a well-structured tank with plenty of hiding spots, such as caves or dense vegetation, to mimic its natural habitat. The Flier Cichlid is an omnivore and enjoys a varied diet that includes both plant matter and small invertebrates.
