Physical Characteristics:

• Body Shape: They have a streamlined, elongated body with a slightly arched back. Their fins are typically well-developed, and they have a forked tail fin.

• Decor: Australian Rainbowfish appreciate densely planted tanks with driftwood, rocks, and floating plants. These elements provide hiding spots and mimic their natural habitats in streams, rivers, and still waters.
• Water Parameters: Maintain tropical freshwater conditions with a temperature range of 72°F to 78°F (22°C to 26°C), a pH level between 6.5 and 7.5, and slightly hard water.

Diet: Australian Rainbowfish are omnivores with a preference for both live and prepared foods. They accept high-quality flakes, pellets, and granules, but they thrive with a varied diet that includes live or frozen foods like brine shrimp, daphnia, and bloodworms. Supplement their diet with vegetable matter like spirulina flakes or blanched vegetables.

Breeding: Breeding Australian Rainbowfish is achievable in a well-maintained aquarium. Provide them with a suitable spawning site, such as fine-leaved plants or spawning mops. The females will deposit eggs, which the males fertilize and guard. Remove the eggs to a separate container to protect them from potential predation during the incubation period.
