Description

Thorichthys maculipinnis, also known as the Spotted Cheek Cichlid, is a freshwater fish species that belongs to the family Cichlidae. It is native to the rivers and streams of Central America, specifically found in the Rio Papaloapan basin of eastern Mexico.

These fish are generally peaceful and can be kept in a community aquarium, but they do have some territorial tendencies, especially during breeding. A spacious aquarium with plenty of hiding places and a soft substrate is recommended for keeping them. The Spotted Cheek Cichlid is an omnivore and will accept a wide variety of foods, including flakes, pellets, and live or frozen foods like brine shrimp, bloodworms, and daphnia. Avoid feeding land based protein such as Beef Heart.

These are some absolutely beautiful fish when fully grown. Already showing great colors at 2-3"
